What is Spotify? its an online music application, containing a huge music library.

spotify

Simply type in the band and hit play. It streams it to your PC and uses 10% of your HDD as cache. The cache allows instant playback and no need to use internet resources to download the song.

Its a clean simple interface, good quality sounds, just neat!

Its meant to have ad’s to support the music (though i haven’t heard any yet)

for 10 pounds a month.. it may be a bit high.. will see what the offer is when(if) its realased in Australia.

Some early Pacnet Ads (c. 2000 – 2003)

Author: Tom  |  Category: Work

This ad, Targeted to Uni students to connect to Pacnet with the tag line:
“Looking to HookUp with someone on campus this year?”

Pacnet Ad - Hook-up

“I Love Pacific Internet” with Fandi in the Ad. Fandi was the Singapore Soccer Star of the time (as from Wikipedia.) Noted as the best soccer player from singapore, he appeared in this ad to tell of how much he loved Pacnet

Fandi - I Love Pacnet

These next two are my favorite of the old ad’s. Designed for a Shock – these ad’s if printed today would’ve appeared on Today Tonight and ACA within days.

Pacnet - Satisifed Yet?

Pacnet - Unloved

Some great marketing had gone into some of these! a good piece of the past.

Wild weather hits Melbourne

Author: Tom  |  Category: Life

after a summer hitting 45 degrees, now we’re dealing with wild storms.

With winds exceeding 120km/hr and at times – a windchill of -14 degrees, its been a pretty whild storm. The storms and bad weather is expected to continue tomorrow.

The Yarra River was surging, with water levels higher than the lower walk ways and docs.

There was also some visable damage near my home in Box Hill.

Hopefully the weather wont be too bad tomorrow and there wasn’t too much damage ahead.

Dennis Brown. Things In Life

And it’s beginning to get to me
That I know more of the stars and sea
Than I do of what’s in your head
Barely touching in our cold bed

Are you beginning to get get my point
That all this fighting with aching joints
It’s doing nothing but tire us out
No one knows what this fight’s about

It’s so thrilling but also wrong
Don’t have to prove that you are so strong
‘Cause I can carry you on my back
After our enemies attack

I tried to tell you before I left
But I was screaming under my breath
You are the only thing that makes sense
Just ignore all this present tense

We need to feel breathless with love
And not collapse under its weight
I’m gasping for the air to fill
My lungs with everything I’ve lost

Vialetto’s

Author: Tom  |  Category: Food

With guests from Singapore in town, we headed for a nice meal in the city after work.

Wandered up to Hardware Lane, and to a favourite restaurant of mine, Vialetto’s.

The meal was well prepared along with my favourite main and entrée, however,  this time i stayed around for Dessert.

Matt had the Profiteroles:

Profiteroles - Vialetto's

While I indulged in the Sorbet.

3 Fruit Sorbet - Vialetto's

A well priced meal and very tasty also.

Sports Tracker Route

So this was a ride I did today… it wasn’t long enough – but I was too tired to keep on going & caught a train home instead.

Will see how the weather looks tomorrow and go for another ride again (if my legs aren’t killing me ) :)
