Hong Kong Dim Sum

Hong Kong Dim Sum has just opened.. and they have lots of flowers out the front, I guess to make themselves look loved? The chinese book store also did this when they opened, except they only had one bundle of flowers, not 6.

postcards on the floor
but this pen can’t write lonliness no more.
waking up all alone
on the opposite side of the coast.

roadside state of mind
boulevard of broken dreams washed out this
time after time I was lost and looking
but knew I’d never find
what is mine in a world that’s so unkind.

and love is overated.
it leaves you devistated.

the only things I know are
road signs and rock songs and lonely hotel rooms.
but still I need you here, whats new?

Freshly Made Pies

I baked some meat pies today for dinner/lunches. I haven’t cooked any in a while and I thought it’d be a nice change.

They came out quite well, just a little over seasoned. Used some egg glazing ontop to give it golden brown colour :)

Delicious.

KOS sent me this today, its a pic from way back.  We jumped a fence on North Head and sat on this cliff face for a while. This is an awesome pic which I’ve been looking for, for ages.  <3

Pig & Whistle

Today, went for a drive to the hills to try a place I’ve wanted to try for a while.

Pig & Whistle Tavern

For starters, we had some sourdough. This was a delight. I expected to only have a few slices of bread, but we ended up with a whole loaf.

Sourdough

The bread was freshly baked, warm out of the oven. Its presentation was delicious! the only problem was the mess it made cutting it :P

Roast Pork Belly. English Pork Sausages & Mash

Wendell took the Roast Pork Belly & I had the Pork Sausages & Mash.

The meal was excellent and service was good, it was really nice to sit next to the fire on a cold day too.

The Pig & Whistle in Olinda is definately a favored location, even after just one visit.

Mixed Grill

Another meal at the Shot Tower Steakhouse in Melbourne Central. This place always has good service, the Waiters will speak to you and ensure you’re happy through the whole meal.

Three out of the 4 of us ate the Mixed Grill, mine, pictured above, served with Mash; Krudboys with spinnish and Miro’s with fries.

The meal was nicely cooked, though the churizo was not as hot as I’d like it to be, nor as hot as it had been in the past.

The Shot Tower BBQ Sauce that accompanied mine was much nicer this time though, no where near as rich as last time.

The meals here are not overly priced, the taste is consistant and the service is good, overall a good experience.
