Day Two, went for a bus ride to the Great Wall. About an hour bus ride.

The bus ride cost RMB4.80. Very cheap! About

The wall is impressive. Though falling apart in some places, rebuilt in others, it’s still impressive!

After the wall, we went to a lake called ‘back yard’ in English. It’s just behind the forbidden city so feels like the emporers back yard.

It’s a fancy spot, bikes for hire, rickshaws to take you around too. Many bars and resturaunts with good look out over the lake.

Still have a feeling that beijing is very quiet.

Day three, off to the birds nest and temple of heaven.

After a 3 hour delay for my flight due to weather problems in Taiwan (notably an earth quake), finally gotten the chance to board, sit down, read the paper and have some bad airline food!

Now, airline food is never anything to be excited about, but the meal tonight was probably the least enjoyable I’ve had since the Ansett days of a breakfast that looks like vomit with some soggy bacon.

The choice were chicken rice (no, not the sort you get in singapore or m’sia) but a more western or HK style. In a creamy pepper sauce with vegetables (pictured below).

The chicken was tough, carrots undercooked, all with a taste hard to describe. I guess it’s better than nothing, as I’ve experienced on several Air Asia flights. But the food on Air Asia (when available) kicks arse over this.

Maybe next time I’ll order the special “bland” option!

Coda was such a great place to eat. The atmosphere was amazing (as Betty has captured here!).

…must be doing extra business today, as someone was pretty desperate to get their $2 deposit back from the trolley.

Note – this was only about 500m away from the shopping centre, or even closer to a car park. The $2 must have been pretty pretty good.

So I managed to ride into the city today (and tracked it on sports tracker) I’m buggered now, I’ll need to be more fit before I consider riding into the office.

I wonder how much pain i’ll be in tomorrow

So this was a ride I did today… it wasn’t long enough – but I was too tired to keep on going & caught a train home instead.

Will see how the weather looks tomorrow and go for another ride again (if my legs aren’t killing me )

So I went for a Bike Ride today.

My legs are killing me, but my Bike is awesome.

So I got a new bike today

Rode it home from the store. It goes alright, has quite low gearing at the start, but once its going its fine.

Gonna go for a longer ride tomorrow, will see how I go.

What the hell is happening to the weather here!

It’s 33 degrees today in the middle of autumn.
There has been two earth quakes in the last month!

Hopefully it cools down soon, I’m hoping for a good ski-season!

I did a training session yesterday, it went quite well. Was scheulded for 60 minites, took 90 with questions, so I guess thats a good sign! I feel like i’ve nearly lost my voice from speaking though.

Anyway, this weekend, looking at ropes and shoes for climbing, some new joggers and maybe a haircut if the hairdressers is open, but i dunno about that. Maybe i’ll grow myhair a bit longer. I’m too lazy to maintain it though.

Otherwise, I’m ready to Wii lots this weekend ^_^
